Our Webcam Feature
Whenever one of your employees punches in or out, our webcam feature will automatically take their picture. You’ll see this reflected in your time clock dashboard so you can verify who actually punched in. This feature works for clock ins on Chrome or Firefox web browsers with an internet connection. This is a completely optional feature, but facial recognition provides a level of security that beats even fingerprint time clocks.
Mobile and Tablet Ready
The webcam photo on punch feature can be used with any mobile device, tablet, computer or laptop with a camera. Whether you’re on iOS or Android, you can use this feature through our mobile app. It works on Wi-Fi, or if you’re on desktop an ethernet connection is also fine.
What are the Benefits of Using Photos on Punch?
When we first decided to create Buddy Punch, we wanted to create a time clock system that completely replaced the need for physical timesheets, regardless of if you were running a small business or an enterprise. As we learned more about the features our clients wanted out of clock software, we were forced to make upgrades to deliver on a single home base for everything important when it comes to tracking employee hours.
Chief among those desired features was a digital time clock that could match the security provided by a biometric fingerprint time clock. That’s why we decided to implement photos on clock in and clock out as an optional feature. If you’re committed to fingerprints or proximity card systems, you could use a touchscreen time clock like Acroprint, uAttend, or Totalpass with its keypad, but we wanted to be more accessible.
Photos on Punch lets you check on your employees in real-time to ensure they were in their stations when they clocked in. This prevents employees from cheating your timekeeping.

Easily view employee photos
Every time an employees picture is captured, whether when punching in or out, the image is stored with the punch. You can view the image on the employees time card. The image of the employee also shows up on the Admin’s dashboard for easy viewing. You can reference images that have been captured in the past at any time as they are stored indefinitely. Guarantee that employees are punching time for themselves and that that no “buddy punching” is taking place!
Encourage employee honesty
The Webcam Photo on Punch encourages honesty when it comes to time reporting by requiring your employees to have their picture taken whenever when they punch in or out. Ensure that you know exactly who is punching in and out, preventing “buddy punching” and other sneaky tactics. Remote time management can often tempt employees to falsify their time often leaving you in the dark about your business operations and costing you money in the end, but with the webcam photo on punch feature you can be assured that employee are punching time only for themselves.

Biometric Facial Recognition
Allow your employees to easily punch time or login to their account by using our Facial Recognition feature. All you need to do is upload pictures of your employee’s to Buddy Punch and when an employee goes to punch time their face is compared to that of the image associated with their profile. Only once the employees identity is confirmed will face recognition let them access their account. Make sure that your employees are punching time for themselves and no one else – get rid of buddy punching once and for all!
