Buddy Punch only tracks your employees’ locations when they’re on the clock — never when they’re not working. If you use GPS on punch, their locations are only logged when they clock in and out. If you use geofencing, their locations are only checked when they clock in and out. If you use real-time GPS, their locations are only tracked between when they clock in and out.

If you’re only collecting GPS data at clock in and out (for GPS on punch or geofencing), very little data is used — less than 10 KB on average. And since the app only needs to be active at clock in and out, there isn’t any battery drain associated with it.

For our real-time GPS tracking feature, while the app will shorten the phone’s battery life somewhat, we’ve designed it so that it can run in the background and minimize this impact.

Buddy Punch has direct integrations with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, ADP, Gusto, Paychex, Paylocity, PayPlus, SurePayroll, and more. All you need to do is set up the integration, and then you can push your timesheet data to your payroll provider in seconds.

If we don’t have a direct integration with your accounting or payroll software, you can create your own integration using Zapier. You can also download any reports as Excel or CSV files that can be uploaded to your accounting or payroll software.
