How Buddy Punch’s time clock works
1. Creating schedules
Admins, managers, or foremen can create job schedules for your crew using our drag-and-drop scheduling tool. Published schedules are automatically sent to crew members.
2. Clocking in and out
Crew members can clock in and out using our mobile apps, you can set up a tablet as a kiosk, or a site foreman can clock everyone in and out at the same time.
3. Viewing timesheets
Buddy Punch compiles all clock-in and out data into timesheets that you can view on the admin dashboard. Crew hours and overtime are automatically calculated for you.
4. Running payroll
Use Buddy Punch as your payroll provider, or integrate our data with payroll providers like QuickBooks and ADP. Running payroll will be faster and more accurate than ever before.
Features to prevent off-site punching and monitor locations
GPS on punch
When crew members clock in and out, log their location on their timesheets. You can then review this data to make sure everyone was on-site when they punched in and out.
Geofencing
Prevent crew members from clocking in before they arrive on the job site or clocking out after they leave with geofences — virtual, location-based radiuses you create around your job sites.
Real-time GPS
See where all crew members are located at any time on a map, or track crew members’ routes and movements throughout the day. Real-time GPS can be enabled or disabled per employee.

Job tracking
Create job codes for your different projects. Employees select a job code when clocking in, then you can see exactly how many hours were worked on specific projects.
Prevailing wage rates
Set up project-specific rates for your prevailing wage jobs, and Buddy Punch automatically assigns the appropriate pay rates to the hours crew members work on those jobs.
Flexible punching options
Set up Buddy Punch on a tablet to use it as a portable time clock kiosk, or have your site foreman clock everyone who’s on-site in and out at the same time.
Photos on punch
Require your employees to take a photo of themselves when clocking in or out. This prevents buddy punching — employees punching in and out for each other.
