How Buddy Punch’s time-tracking software works
1. Creating schedules
Administrators can create schedules for their teams using our drag-and-drop scheduling tool. Schedules are automatically sent to employees when they’re finalized.
2. Clocking in and out
Employees can clock in and out on their computers or phones, or you can set up Buddy Punch on a central computer or tablet to create a shared time clock kiosk.
3. Viewing timesheets
Buddy Punch compiles all clock-in and out data into timesheets that you can view anytime on the admin dashboard. Hours and overtime are automatically calculated.
4. Running payroll
Use Buddy Punch as your payroll provider, or integrate our data with payroll providers like QuickBooks and ADP. Running payroll will be faster and more accurate than ever.
Features to track employees’ locations
GPS on punch
When staff members clock in and out, log their location on their timesheets. Review this data to make sure everyone was where they were supposed to be when they punched in and out.
Geofencing
Prevent employees from clocking in before they arrive at a patient’s house or clocking out after they leave with geofences โ virtual, location-based radiuses you create around your locations.
Real-time GPS
See where all employees are located at any time on a map, or track team members’ routes and movements throughout the day. Real-time GPS can be enabled or disabled per employee.

Create locations for your different patients. Employees select a location when clocking in, then you can see exactly how many hours were spent with each individual patient.
Differential pay
Set up differential pay rates for night, weekend, or holiday shifts, and Buddy Punch will automatically assign the appropriate pay rates when employees log hours to those shifts.
Smart scheduling
Employees can add their availability to Buddy Punch. Then, when it’s time to create a work schedule, you can see exactly who’s available to work every shift you need to cover.
PTO tracking
Employees can request paid time off using the Buddy Punch app. If the request is approved, those hours are automatically added to their time cards and deducted from their PTO balances.
